Is Borat coming to the MCU? According to Deadline, “there is talk on the set” of the upcoming Ironheart about Sacha Baron Cohen joining the series… as the devil himself. Well, a devil, anyway. While no one involved will officially confirm, Deadline is confident enough in their sources to say that Cohen “is likely playing Mephisto.”

Even Though I Knew the End
The specter of Mephisto hovered over WandaVision, but ultimately, Wanda Maximoff’s story came and went without any mention of the demon, who hails from a dimension that he refers to as hell (but he isn’t Satan or Lucifer or Hades or any of those guys, just another demon with a hellish pocket dimension and minor demons in his employ).
Mephisto could have his hands in any number of pockets, especially now that everything’s gone multiversal. He’s had encounters with plenty of Marvel characters, from Spider-Man to Doctor Strange to Thor, and is responsible for the existence of another: Ghost Rider. Like any devil worth his salt, Mephisto makes all kinds of deals with people—far too many to list.
Sacha Baron Cohen is best known for his satirical Borat films, most recently Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (pictured above). But he is also a serious actor who was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Abbie Hoffman in The Trial of the Chicago 7. If he turns up in Ironheart as Mephisto, it’ll likely be the first of many Marvel projects to feature the character.
Ironheart, the story of young genius inventor Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), is set to premiere in fall 2023.
